In today’s UV LED ink product spotlight series, we review the Natron® 314 Series UV printer ink. In our previous spotlight article, we examined the BX pad printing ink. Specifically designed for automotive applications, the BX Series allows pad printing on a variety of materials, including plastics, metal, glass, and rubberized polymers.
The 314 series is a neutral digital ink. With this ink, it is possible to print on both flexible materials as well as rigid materials, making it the perfect ink for many applications, including signage and promotional products.
Review of UV LED inks
UV printer inks play a vital role in printing graphics on many different types of parts and materials. Unlike solvent-based screen-printing inks, pad printing inks, or silicone inks, UV printer inks require only a few color combinations to produce over 95% of all possible colors. These colors include cyan, magenta, yellow, black, and white. For an additional range of colors, use a light cyan and a light magenta. Recently, more flatbed and cylindrical UV inkjet printers are adding green and red colors to achieve true color representation when printing with UV LED curable inkjet inks.
314 Series UV LED inks overview
The 314 Series color shades include cyan, magenta, yellow, black, white, light cyan, light magenta, and varnish. With these colors, it is possible to print stunning images on many products, making it an excellent ink for most of the industrial print heads.
Compatible printheads
The 314 Series UV ink works excellently with many industrial print heads. This ink series is compatible with the Ricoh G5, Ricoh G6, Toshiba CE4, Starfire 1024, Konica 512, Konica 1024, Xaar 2001, Seiko 512, and Seiko 1024 printheads. Our digital equipment, such as the Gyra® cylindrical inkjet printer line and our UV flatbed machines, utilizes printheads from this series. As a result, the 314 Series is the best ink for customers who desire to print on a wide range of materials with these machines.
Features for the 314 UV inks
In the world of inkjet printing, the Natron 314 Series UV inkjet inks from Boston Industrial Solutions, Inc. are among the best in the world. This ink series comes packed with many features, such as high opacity, high gloss, exceptional adhesion to a wide range of materials, and the ability to bond on both rigid and flexible materials.
For these reasons, this is the best UV ink to print on HP92S, HP92W graphic films, powder coats, acrylics, stainless steel, rigid plastics, flexible plastics, and more. Additionally, this ink, once cured, ensures that the materials maintain their brilliance for a long time.
Lastly, for challenging materials to print, use our award-winning inkjet primers, such as the M87 or the MD3 UV adhesion promoter for aluminum composite materials. Consider the JP254 jettable adhesion promoter if your equipment has the jettable primer option. This combination not only enhances adhesion but also enables the drinkware, signage, and many applications to pass ASTM tests.
