WHAT IS THE OUTER COVER OF A GOLF BALL MADE OF?

While most golfers do not think about it, the golf ball is quite an engineering marvel. There are three components of the golf ball: the core, the mantel, and the cover. Golf manufacturers tweak these three components for distance, speed, control, and feel. While all the components of a golf ball are interesting, for ink manufacturers and you as an ink user, the cover is the most interesting component. Our goal is to get the pad printing ink to bond to the outer material. Either Surlyn, a trademark of DuPont, or Urethane make up the golf ball cover. Unlike polypropylene which requires a PP primer, you do not need a primer to print on the outer cover of a golf ball.

PAD PRINTING GOLF BALLS

Custom golf balls pad printing is a cost-effective option for decorating these sporting goods items. Pad printing, also known as tampo printing, is suitable for both short- and long-term production. With this printing method, it is possible to achieve a four-color image.
Additionally, this printing method offers flexibility, allowing for effective printing on the dimples found on the balls’ covers. To print multiple colors, use a two-color pad printing machine or four-color pad printing equipment. Other necessary pad printing supplies include silicone printing pads, pad printing plates, ink cup rings, pad printing solvent, and a pad printing fixture known as tooling. This combination allows the decorator to properly position and print the balls.
