The Natron ® MG Series – a high-performance, eco-sustainable, 2-component ink – is perfectly designed for pad and screen printing on metal, glass, ceramic, tile, aluminum, and more. With its versatility, durability, and food-safe formulation, the MG Series is the go-to solution for industries requiring vibrant, long-lasting, and safe prints.

Unmatched Versatility:

The MG Series ink isn’t just limited to metals and glass. It adheres to a wide range of surfaces, including:

  • Chrome-plated parts
  • Varnish-coated substrates
  • Thermosetting plastics
  • Epoxy resins
  • Carbon fiber
  • Composite substrates

This makes it ideal for printing logos, fine details, and intricate designs across industries from consumer goods to healthcare to food packaging.

Durable, Glossy, and High-Opacity:

The MG Series is formulated for exceptional opacity and a glossy finish, ensuring sharp, vibrant prints. It resists binding, shearing, creasing, and exposure to harsh environments. Prints remain intact even after contact with detergents, hot water, alcohol, acids, and alkalis.

Dishwasher Resistance:

  • Domestic dishwashers: 600 cycles at 149°F (65°C) for 130 minutes with alkaline detergents
  • Commercial dishwashers (e.g., Winterhalter) 700 cycles at 185°F (85°C) for 3 minutes

Chemical Resistance:

  • Perfume: G1-test after 24 hours
  • Ethanol and glass cleansing agent: 500 DRS
  • Acetone/MEK: 50 DRS

Humidity Resistance:

  • Condensation water test: 167°F (75°C) at 100% RH for 30 minutes
  • Cold water immersion test: for 24 hours

Food-Safe, and Certified Non-Toxic:

The MG Series meets ATSM, Mil-Spec, and medical application standards. Free from heavy metals and made with fade-resistant pigments, it is non-toxic and food-safe making it perfect for printing on:

  • Medical devices
  • Healthcare surfaces
  • Food packaging
  • Children’s toys

All health and safety data sheets are available on our website.

Customization and Colors:

Choose from 22 high-opacity colors, 4 metallic shades, etch imitation, and 4 process colors. Like all Natron ® inks, these shades are intermixable to create endless color possibilities.

Need a matte finish? Add 2% matte powder to the ink to reduce gloss. Always test adhesion before full production runs when adding matte powder.

Hardeners and Additives:

The MG Series works with four hardeners: i-267x, i-247x, i-260x, and i-240x.

  • i-267x: Most popular for the MG Series
  • i-247x: Speeds up reaction, reduces gloss

Tip: Since the hardener is sensitive to humidity, avoid high humidity for a few hours after printing.

Mixing Ratios:

  • Rigid applications: 10-16% hardener (i-267x); 10 parts ink to 1 part hardener (by weight)
  • Flexible applications: 20-25% hardener (i-267x); 4 parts ink to 1 part hardener (by weight)

After mixing ink and hardener, mix thoroughly before adding solvent. Add 5-35% of the ink’s weight in solvent and stir again thoroughly. Keep in mind that the ink-hardener-solvent mixture is chemically reactive and must be processed within 7-9 hours.

Printing Parameters:

  • Clichés: Any commercially available ones made of ceramic, photopolymer, laser, or steel plates (20μm depth recommended)
  • Pads: Use silicone pads (any durometer/hardness)
  • Machines: Suitable for closed-cup and open-ink well machines. Use the appropriate thinner for the correct type of machine. For open-ink wells, use slower pad printing ink solvents (thinners).

Curing:

The MG Series must be cured at 250°F (140°C) for at least 20 minutes after printing.
