UV ADHESION PROMOTER FOR GLASS
Natron® G1 UV adhesion promoter for glass helps UV curable ink stick to glass, tiles, ceramics, and tritan plastic. Once cured, the G1 glass primer drastically improves the bonding and durability of UV prints made on glass.
This special UV ink adhesion promoter (glass primer for uv printing) guarantees UV and UV-LED printing ink adhesion on difficult-to-print glass substrates.
Glass Surface molecular activator/primer for UV Inkjet Printing, urethane-based coatings and adhesives is scientifically formulated to actively transform the micro-structure of glass surfaces to create permanent bonding. This glass primer for UV inkjet printing creates permanent bonding through the use of nano-scale materials, allowing bonding on virtually every type of glass surface. Both glass and hard plastics are common substrates that are impossible to print.
Solvent based MG Series ink for screen and pad printing on glass does not require a primer to achieve permanent adhesion on glass. This is different compared to UV inks. Due to glass manufacturing process, printing on glass with UV inks is more challenging than most substrates.
Glass is an extremely difficult material to process, due to its very smooth surface, even the most durable UV inks have a problem with adhesion. In addition, the manufacturing of glass involves fritting which creates a unique glass structure. After the unique glass structure, the second most difficult problem is proper cleaning and glass preparation for printing.
Fritted Glass
Also fritted glass is a mixture of of silica and fluxes fused at high temperatures that makes glass according to finical article “scratching the surface” This property inhibits UV inkjet ink’s ability to ‘wet out’ or bond to the glass surface. This of course causes problems with many glass printing inks and adhesives. This causes weak adhesion or failure of the ink to adhere at all onto the plastic substrate. As a result, Boston Industrial Solutions, developed the Natron™ G1 Glass primer.
Characteristics of fritted glass.
Frit is a mixture of silica and fluxes fused at high temperatures that makes glass. Because low surface energy is the primary characteristic of this group, they’re all more difficult to bond.
UV/LED Inkjet printing inks
Additionally, the G1 UV adhesion promoter for tiles from Boston Industrial solutions works with all glass substrates. This primer will will 100% work on any glass substrate.

USES:
- – Reduces product surface tension for better bond using nano-particles
- – Guarantee UV inkjet ink adhesion onto any glass
- – UV inkjet print, Screen print or pad print any ink on any glass
How to Use Glass inkjet primer
The first step is to clean the glass surface with 70/30 isopropyl rubbing alcohol. Then scrub the entire glass surface tor remove all possible impurities that could be impregnated on the glass surface. Next, clean glass surface with alcohol and fresh paper towels until dry. Make sure glass surface has a squeaky clean feel to the surface while being wiped dry.
- – Wipe off / Remove dust, oil and other dirt from the substrate (glass).
- – Wet a clean, non-woven (lint free) cloth with the the G1 Glass primer for UV inkjet inks.
- – Wipe substrate with the wet lint-free towel.
- – Allow a couple of minutes for the solvent to completely evaporate.
- – Print the substrate or apply the adhesive onto substrate

Using the Natron G1 UV Adhesion promoter for digital printing on glass, tiles, and tritan plastics
Lastly, Natron MG – Metal, Glass & Ceramics ink is the ideal ink for pad printing and screen printing on glass. With the primer, the printed surface is enhanced by the colorless plastic primer. The primer cleans the surface, leaving a shinny film. This prepares the substrate to receive the ink.
The Natron G1 primer works on glass, Dense Plastics, and Carbon Fiber as well.
This primer is powerful and improves UV inkjet ink, solvent ink, and water based ink adhesion on glass.
- Promotes adhesion to Glass, Ceramics/ Tiles, Rigid plastics/ Carbon fiber, Phenolics (Bakelite), Melamine (Formica).
UV ink adhesion promoter for glass drinkware
The Natron G1 glass primer for UV ink printing, just like our Natron PP primer for plastics is very powerful. By applying a small amount of this UV ink adhesion promoter to glass, UV ink adhesion improves instantly and significantly.
